DC Weekend Vacay Pt. 3 - The Arts

The first day in D.C., we went to Georgetown (which is adorable) and made a pilgrimage to Dumbarton Oaks.  The house was really cool, but the gardens (designed by  Beatrix Farrand) were amazing.

The Orangery
The Swimming Pool
Fountain in the Ellipse
I cannot recommend visiting enough.

The Freer's Gallery's Peacock Room by Whistler was amazing!
The exhibition Kiyochika: Master of the Night was great
The only bummer was that copies of his prints are not available for purchase because of donor issues.  I really wanted a copy of this print "Sight at Ochanomizu" (1880).  His work is so beautiful.
How cute is the teapot that was for sale in the gift shop though?
D.C. is a great city, and we had a great time.
