Goodbye August...We had some good meals didn't we?

Goodbye August, we've had some good food together.
We got a Birch Coffee near us and it's adorable.  I love good coffee.

I had Indian takeout the other night - butter chicken... so good.
I've been trying to take advantage of my lunch breaks.  The other day I had a slice of New York pizza outside while finishing the new Robert Galbraith (aka J.K. Rowling) book The Silkworm.  It was extremely enjoyable.  Nature, a good book, and pizza = nice mid-day break.
I threw together a fresh summer salad the other day that included poached eggs and fresh baguette.
I hope September holds all good things for us all. xoxo

Trader Joe's Karat Cake

The frozen section of Trader Joe's is a problem.  Here is our latest Trader Joe's taste test:

Beautiful cake that looks only slightly different from the box.

We each want one piece/an eighth of the cake; so we cut it up and let one fourth thaw... did that make sense?

Trader Joe's Kouigns Amann

We were very intrigued by the newest addition to Trader Joe's frozen pastry line: Kouigns Amann.

The bottom is super sugary and carmelized.
We liked it, but I think I'll stick to the pain au chocolat and croissants aux amandes.

Egg Roll Craving

I was craving an egg roll today, and instead of having self control, I went ahead and got an egg roll with chicken friend rice for dinner.

Dinner Tonight: Chicken Fried Rice, Egg Roll, and Sauvignon Blanc

My Fortune: The best angle from which to approach any problem is the TRYangle.  Fine, I'll try.

Trader Joe's (Trader Giotto's) Rigatoni alla Siciliana

Another Trader Joe's review.  We ate "Trader Giotto's" Rigatoni alla Siciliana or Pasta with an Egglplant Ragu Sauce for dinner last night.

Partially cooked
Added parmesan cheese
It was pretty good and tasted pesto-y.
