PEMA & Fanaberie

On our walk through Williamsburg, we walked past a lot of cute stores.  Two that stuck out to me were PEMA and Fanaberie.

Nita Nita Brunch

After the Flea Market, we went to Nita Nita for brunch.  Brooklyn seems to be the brunch (along with bedbug) capitol of the world, so I was surprised that didn't have to wait.

Nita Nita has a cute backyard, where you can eat outside on picnic tables, etc.  I got a slight sunburn on my nose, but needed the vitamin D.
Our picnic table... they re-purposed old liquor bottles by using them as water carafes.  Ours was a Jim Beam bottle.
My drink trio: coffee, water, mimosa
Both my husband and father-in-law got Blueberry Vodka Lemonades and loved them.
I got the Baguette Benedict
Nice portions and good salad
My father-in-law got the "hangover," which was French toast, eggs, and bacon.
My husband ordered the skirt steak tostadas.

Williamsburg Flea Market

We went to Williamsburg, Brooklyn today.  Our day started with a trip to the Williamsburg Flea Market.  My husband found himself an adorable t-shirt from  Gnome Enterprises for just $25.

I found a Dough stand!  And then I had to get a lemon poppy seed donut, even though I knew we were about to go to brunch.

Claire Thomas - Adorable Clothes!

Almost every Saturday, I watch "Food for Thought with Claire Thomas."  She has the cutest clothes, and I am always bummed that there isn't any information on what brands, etc. she buys for dresses and accessories.  I especially love her shirt dresses.

Seychelles Summer Shoes

I bought myself some adorable Seychelles open toe shoes recently.  The first pair that I bought, I found on Anthropologie.  They call them "Unwrapped Wedges," which from what I can tell are the same as the "Risky Business" wedges available on Zappos.  Anyway, I got them in the coral color and love them!

Gilt.com is a real issue for me, because they have beautiful things, and you feel like you're getting a great deal even if you're not actually.  In summer, I wear the heck out of my flat black open toe shoes.  They are perfect for long days of work.  I'm due for a new pair, and saw these Seychelles "Pomona" flats on Gilt.  They haven't arrived yet, but I'm very excited about wearing them to the office.  If I really like them, I might get them in the cobalt or teal colors.

WInes I'm into right now...

My husband and I both love the Monte Degli Angeli Piemonte Pinot Noir that we had the other night.  It was so tasty and didn't give us a headache or anything like that.

I am really enjoying cold white wine as the weather gets nicer, and the Coppola Pinot Grigio is very refreshing and delish.

Trader Joe's Reduced-Guilt Chunky Guacamole

Today, we went to Trader Joe's to get one or two things, which led to us getting a bunch of things.  We got the spicy California rolls with brown rice for dinner... yum.  And I tried a sample of guacamole that I liked so much I put in my basket immediately.  One of my little quirks is that I love looking at the Trader Joe's receipt when we get done shopping... mostly because it is so cheap and it makes me feel strategic.  While I was looking at the receipt, I noticed it mentioned "reduced guilt" guacamole ... I panicked and thought I had bought the wrong item.  Even when I'm trying to be healthy, I don't like to buy diet foods that are full of weird chemicals, etc.  It turns out the guacamole uses Greek yogurt, which normally I don't like at all, but it is absolutely delicious and goes well with the organic white corn chips we already had at the apartment.  Perfect for Cinco de Mayo!
