Ficus Retusa Tigerbark Bonsai

Today, we went to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and came home with a new addition for the apartment.  It's an adorable bonsai named Ficus Retusa Tigerbark.  We also bought a little owl stone figurine to guard over it.

My husband installed a corner shelf so that it is out of  the kittens' reach.
It's twisty and casts a cool shadow on the wall.
The little owl is under the tree standing guard.
Speaking of owls, we have an oversize pillow from Williams-Sonoma with an owl on it that says "La Chouette."  I like it a lot.  Obviously, I have an owl obsession.

Birthday Week

This past week, my husband turned 30 and I turned 28...  yay to growing old together!  Some highlights from the week:

I found $30 in my jeans.

My boss gave me some lovely daffodils.

I bought myself this Kate Spade Cobble Hill Leslie Bag.

It's really nice leather and roomy.

La Playa, Naples, Florida

My mom and I took a brief vacation to Naples, Florida this past week.  We stayed at the La Playa Hotel, which was wonderful.  It was right on the beach, and we had sweeping views of the Gulf of Mexico.
Our room was gorgeous.

Our view was even more gorgeous.

Sunsets were lovely.

Eggs Benedict from room service.

Bagels...

And lox from room service.

Wine, coffee, and sunset.

Now back to reality.

Packing Up and Heading Out

Happy Easter and April Fools!  I am escaping NYC this week and heading someplace warm - won't be doing any blogging... only relaxing and focusing on my inner zen.

I'm bringing my apple green Longchamp pliage, favorite pair of reefs, various sundresses, and jeans.

Last year on my honeymoon in Puerto Rico, I wore this Soprano one sleeve, tribal blue and beige maxi dress.  The brand is so inexpensive - perfect for the beach.

I bought this Soprano dress a few weeks ago at Loehmann's, because it reminded me so much of my childhood and the crazy colors and patterns of the 80's.

My pedicure for this trip is Essie Coral Carousel and my sandals are Kenneth Cole Reaction.
